In the world of treadmill brands, Sole Fitness stands above. Here’s a look at all of Sole’s treadmills, compared by features and model, so you can choose the best one that matches your goals.
Sole Fitness is one of the best brands on the planet when it comes to building high-grade and affordable cardio machines.
Sole treadmills are excellent options for home gyms thanks to their nearly over-built construction, tons of training and performance features, and reasonable price tag.
With six different treadmills, Sole has a lot of options for the home gym user.
But which Sole treadmill is right for you?
In this hands-on comparison of Sole Fitness treadmills, we look at ALL of them, examining the key features of each, pros and cons, and which treadmill is perfect for you.
Let’s jump right in.
Sole Fitness Treadmill Machines – Comparison by Model
Sole Fitness F63 Treadmill Machine
⭐ Best budget-friendly Sole treadmill
Key features:
- Price: $999
- Motor: 3.0 CHP
- 0.5 to 12mph
- 20” x 60”
- Power incline up to 15-degrees
Let’s start off with the least expensive Sole treadmill, the F63, one of the best treadmills for home gyms under $1,000 that can fold up to save space, has a 3.0 HP motor, and tons of incline options.
Treadmill machines tend to be among the more expensive types of cardio machines for home gyms, which means finding a balance between durability and cost-saving.
However, even though the F63 is the entry-level and technically a “cheap” treadmill, it runs like a tank, comparable to a commercial or studio-grade treadmill. The Sole F63, while it doesn’t have a big shiny touchscreen, performs the basics exceptionally well.
The weight capacity on the F63 is 325lbs, which gives it the distinction of being one of the top treadmills for heavy people, outperforming other treadmills in this price range, like the NordicTrack EXP 71 (300lbs) and ProForm Carbon T10 (300lbs).
Want to do hill training and reap the added benefits of using the incline on a treadmill? The F63 effortlessly cranks up to 15-degrees of motorized incline. How about some interval workouts? The F63 easily handles higher speeds, and its motor is able to get up to speeds of 12mph.
The Sole F63 might be the entry-level treadmill in Sole’s lineup, but compared to other treadmills in this price range, it outperforms the competition.
✅ PROS | ❌ CONS |
Entry-level pricing ~$1,000 | No WiFi hook-up |
Heavier-duty treadmill compared to others in its price range
Lifetime warranty on frame and motor
Motorized incline |
Sole F65 Treadmill
⭐ Best Sole treadmill for tall people
Key features:
- Price: $1,499
- Extra large running deck (22″ x 60″)
- 3.25 CHP motor
- 9″ LCD display
The Sole F65 is another relatively budget-friendly treadmill. One of the best treadmills for under $1,500, the F65 takes the key features of the F63 and makes a couple of key upgrades.
Performance enhancements include a wider running deck, a stronger motor for even smoother belt operation, higher weight capacity, and a larger display screen.
Here is a closer look at the key differences between the Sole F65 and F63:
F63 | F65 | |
Running Deck | 20” x 60” | 22” x 60” |
Motor | 3.0 CHP | 3.25 CHP |
Weight capacity | 325lb | 350lb |
Screen size | 6.5” | 9” LCD |
Although the Sole F65 is somewhat of a budget-friendly option, it is not flimsy. The deck didn’t rattle or “clunk” when in use. Being a heavier dude (~290lbs), I’m used to making treadmills make a lot of noise when running, particularly when doing treadmill sprint workouts.
The Sole F65 not only didn’t shake or shudder when running fast, but overall noise was kept to a minimum. The zoned cushioning deck absorbed my foot strikes handily. The F65 also handles speed and incline changes smoothly with one-touch controls on the console. In terms of running performance, the Sole F65 is a beast.

One thing I would love to see in future editions of the Sole F65 is an upgraded screen for streaming and immersive programming. Cardio machines are all heading in that direction, with crisp and high-definition touchscreens, so I assume it’s only a matter of time (Sole just upgraded the screens on the F80 and F85, so hopefully the F65 is next).
Like the rest of Sole’s treadmills, it comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and the motor, giving you that peace of mind knowing that even as you stack up the miles and workouts, the motor and frame will keep up.
✅ PROS | ❌ CONS |
Budget-friendly pricing | Screen could use an upgrade |
Large backlit-LCD display
Built like a tank; shudder-free running
Extra large running deck |
Sole F80 Treadmill
⭐ Best Sole treadmill for techy features
- Price: $1,899
- 3.5 HP motor (0.5 to 12mph)
- Incline: Up to 15 degrees
- Wireless charging phone pad
- 10.1” HD touchscreen
- Running deck: 22” x 60”
- Weight capacity: 350lbs
- Folding design
The Sole F80 is a feature-rich treadmill for under $2,000 that combines a commercial-grade running experience with a bunch of awesome “tech” features for maximum entertainment.
For starters, the Sole F80 (like the Sole F85 which we will look at next), recently went a design upgrade. The result is a much sleeker and sexier frame and an upgraded screen. I really like the new backwards “7” frame as it removes the tray that was under main console. Taller runners, such as myself, were prone to hitting that tray if running too close to the hood of the treadmill.
And the screen is a very welcome upgrade, too. The 10.1” high-definition touchscreen is powered by Android and can be used for streaming all of your favorite shows (Netflex, etc) or doing online classes using the revamped Sole+ training app.
The Sole F80 has all the typical performance features that are characteristic of Sole treadmills, including power incline that can be cranked up to 15-degrees, folding design (that can be locked between runs), and a powerful 3.5 CHP motor.
The only real downside is that the Sole F80’s maximum weight capacity went down by 25lbs in its most recent update. Previously, the Sole F80 had a max user rating of 375bs, now it’s 350lbs (motor is the same, however).
✅ PROS | ❌ CONS |
Best Sole treadmill under $2,000 | Reduced weight capacity from older version |
10.1” HD touchscreen and wireless phone charger
Large running deck—22” x 60”
Lifetime frame and motor warranty
Updated sleek design |
Sole F85 Treadmill
⭐ Best heavy-duty Sole treadmill with a screen
Key features:
- Price: $2,299
- 15.6” HD touchscreen
- 4.0 CHP motor
- 375lb weight capacity
The Sole F85 is the best value for runners who want a sturdy running experience in their home gym. The F85 features Sole’s strongest treadmill motor, pumping out 4.0 horsepower and has an industry-leading 375lb weight capacity.
The Sole F85, despite basically being built like one of the treadmills you see at your local gym, is relatively cost-effective, retailing for around $2,300, which is cheaper than comparably built treadmills.
The ProForm Pro 9000, for example, has a less powerful motor and cost $300 more. Another popular treadmill for home gyms, the NordicTrack X22i, has a 4.0 CHP motor but costs a whopping $3,400.
The Sole F85 kicks things up from the F80 in terms of screen size (15.6” vs 10.1”) and an extra 0.5 HP from the motor. The treadmill is also a little heavier, with about 30lbs of added weight, compared to its little brother, adding even more stability to the running deck.
Other performance features that make it stand out include both decline (-6-degrees) and incline (up to 15-degrees) settings, Bluetooth compatibility, and large running deck (22” x 60”).
The latest edition of the Sole F85 has an updated frame, electing for the sleek-looking backwards “7” design that has become popular with treadmills recently.
Sole also significantly updated the display, moving from a 10.1” LCD screen to a beautiful 15.6” HD touchscreen, making it one of our preferred treadmills with a screen.
With a WiFi connection, you can stream Netflix, Disney, Hulu, YouTube, and more through the display. For online workouts and programs, connect the screen to the update Sole+ training app.
✅ PROS | ❌ CONS |
Best heavy-duty Sole treadmill | Heavy—weighs nearly 320lbs |
Priced better versus comparable treadmills
4.0 CHP motor | |
Motorized decline and incline (-6 to 15 degrees)
Updated screen and connectivity; wireless phone charger |
Sole TT8 Treadmill
⭐ Best Sole treadmill for incline and decline workouts
Key features:
- Price: $2,399
- 400lb weight capacity
- 4.0 CHP motor
- 10lb flywheel
- -6 decline to 15-degrees incline
Sole’s treadmills are primarily designed for residential use, but for gym owners or people who want the best of the best in terms of build quality, the Sole TT8 Treadmill is engineered for commercial settings.
The thing I like most about the Sole TT8 is the decline and incline functionality. The benefits of decline treadmill running include improving joint strength, combating running inefficiency, and mixing up your running workouts.
The 4.0 CHP motor makes changes between grades on the Sole TT8 a breeze; the machine can be set to a decline of -6 and +15 degrees, giving you a wide range of grade options for simulating running trails and keeping things fresh.
The display and console on the Sole TT8 feature a 10.1” HD touchscreen display powered by Android. This means you can add streaming apps to the display (Netflix, etc) and also take advantage of Sole’s workout app that has classes, “around the world” trails, and so on.
Being built for both commercial and residential gyms, the Sole TT8 is built heavy. The weight of the machine is industrial, tipping the scales at 400lbs. The added weight of the machine is great for stability but makes moving it a pain in the butt.
The warranty on the Sole TT8 Treadmill is at the front of the pack, with lifetime coverage on the frame, motor and deck (if used at home). The warranty changes slightly is used in a light commercial setting, with five-years on the motor and lifetime coverage on the frame.
✅ PROS | ❌ CONS |
4.0 CHP motor for a studio-grade running experience | Screen is smaller than the Sole F85 |
Powered decline and incline settings | Heavy; hard to move |
10.1” touchscreen | |
400lb weight capacity |
Sole ST90 Treadmill
⭐ Best Sole slat-belt treadmill
Key features:
- Price: $3,499
- 2HP AC motor
- Slat-belt design
- Up to 15-degrees incline
- 10.1” high-definition touchscreen
Slat treadmills have become quite popular in local gyms and with home users in recent years. Slat belts use a series of thin rubber slats instead of heavy-duty single-ply or double-ply belts made with nylon, polyester and/or urethane.
Because it’s a series of “mini” belts instead of one single belt, the running experience is smoother and for many runners, feels more natural. That said, typical slat belt treadmills are also significantly more expensive and lack as many training features (for example: incline and decline) as a regular treadmill.
The Sole ST90 Treadmill is a very unique type of slat belt treadmill compared to others in this category. For starters, it’s not curved. If you look at other treadmills in this class, they tend to have a curved design.
The benefits of a curved treadmill include reduced joint impact, and increased oxygen uptake, and as a study in the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport showed (Schoenmakers et al, 2018), curved treadmills expedited VO2 max improvement.
The Sole ST90 is also unique compared to other slat-belt treadmills on the market in that it has an incline feature (up to 15-degrees). Also, unlike other slat-belt treadmills, it has a big and shiny screen (10.1” high-definition) for streaming and using the Sole+ app’s collection of workouts. Competitors such as the Assault Air Runner Pro have basic and minimal LCD screens.
The Sole ST90 uses a 2HP AC motor for hitting speeds up to 12.5mph, making it an ideal choice for people who like doing speed work.
The slat-belt design on the Sole ST90 is definitely a unique running experience, and one that specialized runners will really enjoy.
While not for the very casual runner—especially with that $3,000+ price tag and higher-than-average step-up height of 10”—the Sole ST90 is a beast of a treadmill for more experienced runners.
Finally, the Sole ST90 can’t be folded, so if you are short on space at home, consider a different Sole treadmill.
✅ PROS | ❌ CONS |
More natural running experience vs regular treadmills | Higher step-up height (10”) |
Big touchscreen for online classes and streaming | Too pricey ($3,499) for the casual walker/runner |
Heavy-duty design | |
Fast—can hit speeds up to 12.5mph |
